The Department of Theater and Dance is committed to a culture of inclusion for students, faculty and staff, and within all aspects of its scholarly and practice-based research endeavors.
Our Graduate Program aims to increase the diversity of its students to represent a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Financial support is available to applicants with diverse backgrounds and research interests in the form of competitive five to six-year funding packages that combine fellowships with teaching assistantships and cover tuition and fees.
As a globally oriented program, our faculty research interests and related seminar offerings include (but are not limited to) gender and sexuality studies, intercultural and transnational theories, critical race theory, and theater, dance, and performance histories from a range of geographic locations and perspectives.

In addition, UCSB provides resources for students from diverse backgrounds at the University level, including the Grad Scholars Program and centers within the Student Resource Building.
