Play in a Day Festival

The Play in a Day Festival will feature ten+ new short plays written, directed, and acted by UCSB students, faculty, and staff… all created in one twenty four hour period! Here’s how it works; Friday night May 1st the writers, actors, and directors will meet, break up into their groups and receive a prompt that somehow relates to the evening’s theme. The groups will discuss their prompt and then the writers will have till the next morning to pen a ten-minute play. The groups will reconvene in the morning, rehearse during the day and will bring these brand new plays to life that night on Saturday, May 2nd at 7 pm in a LIVE ZOOM performance.
